the iridium phone...

...has arrived. It is black and looks a little bit like a walkie-talkie in shape and size, but it has a keypad and a screen like a phone. It also has a rather large antenna on it. We've got a spare battery and what looks like a cord for charging. At 8:30am PST tomorrow, we will be learning how to operate it. To send email, it needs to be plugged to a computer via USB and we'll have to load some software onto the computer, too. If I get a chance, I'll take a photo and post it here.
